Eastern Cape Amateur Boxing Organization (ECABO) is a custodian of Open Boxing /Amateur in the Province of the Eastern Cape. It is affiliated to SANABO nationally. The main objective of the organization is attract and nature young boxers from the early age of 10-40.
Open Boxing /Amateur has lived under the shadow of Professional Boxing throughout the dark days of apartheid isolation. Open Boxing is now in the process of curving its own identity and assume its independence and character. The changes have started from the club level, district level and provincial level where BSA licenses have been required to and over the reigns to open boxing personnel.

Kenya hopful they will make it to Boxing Africa cup finals

The Boxing Association of Kenya (BAK) needs Sh7 million to send a full national team of 12 boxers to the Africa Cup tournament in East London, South Africa from June 14 to 25.
BAK boss John Kameta said sending a full to the tournament will enhance their medal prospects.
Kameta who spoke in Mombasa yesterday said they received an invitation from their South African counterparts and have informed the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Kenya.

ECABO boxers prepare for 2016 Olympics in Rio

The SA National Boxing Organisation (Sanabo) internal fights are over and what lies ahead now are the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The body responsible for amateur boxing in the country was suspended by its mother body, the International Boxing Association, last year for its indiscretions.
Sanabo president Andile Mofu this week told City Press boxers were the biggest losers as a result of boardroom politics and vowed this would never happen again under his watch.
With the Rio Games around the corner, Mofu has promised to end South Africa’s more than
20-year boxing medal drought. He said the launch pad for Rio will be the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, later this year.
